Is mxoemu still being worked on? Yes, MxO Emu is currently in development and no, we don't have any timeline of when new features or updates will come online. The best we can give is Soonℒ️ How many people are working on it? For MxO Emu, it is being worked on by one man. However, there are other MxO emulator projects out there with their own coding and ways of doing things. Where's the original server code? Has anyone contacted Monolith/SOE/former developers? This has been asked countless times since the game shut down in 2009. Beside the fact that anyone who worked on the game is bound by an NDA (non-disclosure agreement), so many ownership changes have occurred over the years that there's a possibility the original code doesn't even exist anymore. This is irrelevant, however, since incorporating the developer's intellectual property in this project would mean it's vulnerable to a cease & desist order. All server code for the emulation projects is 100% original. What can you do in mxoemu? Right now, MxO Emu is basically an urban exploration server. You can explore every nook and cranny of MegaCity, you can Hyperjump, Hyperrun, use the hardlines, elevators, and go into various Archivist Construct. You can also access such areas at the Org Areas, White Hallways and White Rooms. MxO Emu does host occassional dance parties. Music is sometimes provided by RadioFreeZion. Although there is currently no combat, there are a few unofficial missions created by dedicated fans, and they're available as often as their creators can run them. Mission availability is posted in #cmnty-mish-news and community mission discussion can be found at #cmnty-mish-chat. When will the missions and combat be implemented? Soonℒ️ (edited)

I'm new to MxOEMU, how do I get started? There's a collection of useful resources on this MxOEMU forum post that should help you with anything you need. It includes links to materials such as MxOEMU installation guides, tutorials for player commands, and even images of all clothing pieces with their IDs so you can get your character's appearance just right (in case you can't find what you need at the Tabor Park Mall). Moreover, you can take a trip down a memory lane with archives of old MxO websites and forums, original game guides, points of interest, etc. If you have further questions, head over to #emulation! Can I see how many people are in-game? Yes, a couple different ways! There's a player count in the topic of #emulation. On the desktop Discord client, the topic is at the top of the channel. On the mobile client, tap the channel name at the top to display the topic. There's also a player counter near the top right of the front page of https://mxoemu.info labeled "User Distribution" that breaks down the player population by district. Note: If you're seeing 'No Access' in place of channel names, head back to the extraction-room channel and follow the instructions there. (edited)

Can I help? If you can get up to speed on your own by researching publicly available resources regarding the project (mxoemu.info forum, this Discord, etc), have at it! Please do not bother the devs with basic questions like 'How do I get started?' or 'How can I help?' If you're unable to take the initiative for yourself and start figuring things out, please monitor the projects for developments! If you're able to make progress on your own, feel free to ask questions and compare notes in the #emulation channel.
